Description XPages discussion forum In Catalog
No

The XPages Forum is a discussion forum template that is being championed by XPages enthusiasts inside and outside of IBM who are committed to improve it. We have now shared this template on OpenNTF.org so that the community can contribute and benefit from the improvements.

How can I get the template?

How can I help?
Visit the "Help Wanted" page of this project to see what we'd like you to help develop. We invite you to develop any of these features, or come up with your own ideas for improvements. Sign up to develop a feature by responding to a specific Help Wanted request with your name in the subject line.

When do you need my contribution?
Sooner is better. We'd like to evaluate your contribution to include in future iterations. If you'd like your contribution evaluated for inclusion in the next iteration of the Lotus product forum template, submit your feature or fix by May 13, 2011.

Please note that acceptance and integration of submissions will depend upon the complexity of the integration work and impact on IBM's development schedule.

How do I submit my feature or fix?

1. Send us a modified template with the changes indicated. Methods for indicating the changes can be:
- Only send us the modified or added design elements - this is preferred
- Send us the entire template with the modified or added elements clearly marked using the Comments feature on design elements - this is acceptable

2. Preferred - send us a readme explaining what was modified and added and any details that can help us analyze the changes.

3. Email the template to dwlotus@us.ibm.com. Please package what you are sending into a .zip file.

What will IBM be developing?
Here's what we (IBM) will be investigating for future releases of the Lotus product forum template.  If you have any questions, please feel free to post them on the "Discussions" area of the project on OpenNTF.org.

  • Display all threads of a topic on one page
  • Add clickable hyperlinks to forum posts
  • Answered topics renamed to "Resolved"
  • Field validation
  • Search completion indicator
  • Required field indicators

Projects can have short and readable URLs, e.g. http://mobilecontrols.openntf.org.

You can request a short URL to your project by sending a mail to support at openntf dot org. Put the word 'OpenNTF' somewhere in the subject.
Owners are the people with maximal rights. For example they can create releases and add more contributors.

In order to define multiple owners use "," (comma) as separator.

Because of data privacy you cannot lookup other people's names but you have to type them in.
Enter the contributors or owners here who you want to receive notifications and questions by email.

In addition to the owners additional OpenNTF contributors have to be listed here. Contributors don't have the same access rights as owners, e.g. they cannot create releases.

Enter a short description of the project here (up to 100 characters).

The short description shows up in the project UI and in some of the views.
In this field you should enter a more detailed description of your project.

You can use the rich text editor for rich text formating. You can also enter HTML to embed objects, e.g. to embed a YouTube video or a screenshot of the project. In this case use '[' and ']' to mark the passthrough HTML as such.

Please note that the first time you use the new UI your description is converted from rich text to MIME. You might want to copy and paste the raw plain text from the old UI in the new UI so that you don't loose information.
A Catalog Release is for projects that are production ready and that are end-user "install friendly".

This property describes whether any release of this project has been added to the catalog.
